Getting the Internet, E-mail, and Messaging Connecting to the Internet The way in which you establish an Internet account from the desktop depends on whether you want to create a new Internet account or transfer settings from an existing Internet account to your computer. In any case, you use the Internet Connection wizard. Once you are connected to the Internet, you gain access to it by using an Internet browser. You can contact your computer manufacturer or Internet service provider (ISP) for information about the different browser programs available. If you prefer, you can use Microsoft Internet Explorer. Note: ISP -> Maintains a server computer that is directly connected to the Internet. You must connect via an ISP unless your organization is directly connected to the Internet. Tips: To create a new account with MSN, double-click the Setup MSN Internet Access icon on the desktop, and then follow the instructions on the screen. To choose an ISP from the Online Services folder, double-click the Online Services folder on the desktop, double-click one of the available ISPs, and then follow the instructions on the screen.
